Program for support of commercial sex workers (CSW) - MARIJA was launched at January 2000 with goal to target commercial street sex workers and their families in Skopje.
During the implementation the program targeted around 200 sex workers, developed outreach activities for promoting and supporting safer behavior on individual and local level, and according to realized needs developed social, health and legal services which also work on improving the accessibility and communication of relevant health, social and legal institutions and organizations.
The activities are carried out on outreach, six days per week. All services offered are anonymous and free of charge.

The Latvian Gender Problem Center "GENDERS" is a non-profit organization that was founded in 1994, in Riga, Latvia. GENDERS develops preventive strategies to combat AIDS/STD among prostitutes and to prevent the trafficking of women. GENDERS also provides support to victims of trafficking. GENDERS lobbies policy makers to improve the legal situation for women in Latvia. GENDERS fulfills these goals by collecting and distributing information on human rights, health protection, and safe sex; by educating teens about safe sex and human trafficking; and by providing social support for target groups such as victims of violence, sex workers, lesbians and gays, HIV positive people and their relatives.
